WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. Crests

When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
