After a number of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. The project is dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unknown artist, it is inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of the five images was taken by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual images, that were then merged to create the final image. The result is a truly out of this world image that reveals the beauty of Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic view of the car rising from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned soon, but there is no specific date or location as of yet.

The auction
