After a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. It's called Space Key and created in collaboration with an unknown artist, it is inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs a few seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was filmed by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera to capture each of the individual images, that were then merged to create the final image. The result is a photograph that is completely out of the world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic image of a car rising away from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and location of the event haven't been set yet.
