The Combo j7+, like all Roomba models, is a pro in taking in dirt. Its smart navigation is bolstered by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision which allows the robot to identify common objects that are in its path, such as pet waste or cords, and avoid them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ can even avoid furniture, such as tall chairs with backs that could trap the robot underneath them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ detects that it is on a surface which requires cleaning it raises its arm and swings an apron that is mopped underneath it. It's a highly user-friendly system, and it performed flawlessly during my tests. However, I noticed that it was not able to completely wipe away liquids that are water-based, such as wine or juice. Thankfully the mopping pad can be easily cleaned and reused.

The camera in the front of the iRobot Combo is also useful. It can detect dangers, such as power cables and pet waste, and avoid them to ensure a thorough clean. This is superior to the majority of robot vacuums' cameras, which can get stuck on things like rug tassels. It's important to note, however, that the iRobot Combo ju7+'s front camera is susceptible to blind spots and may miss certain items.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, but it does the job well enough to justify the price. It has a very high customer rating, and customers appreciate its innovative features. It's worth looking into alternatives, like the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. It's less expensive than the iRobot Combo h7+ and can take voice commands without the necessity of third-party integration as well as mop and vacuum in just one pass. Additionally, it doesn't empty itself into its charging station or follow up mopping sessions with an easy vacuum.

It's an ideal choice for people with large homes because the cleaning and mapping process are quick and efficient. The app is simple to use and you can also set up dates for when it's going to work. If you don't have a strong WI-FI connection, you can still control it using the remote or via voice integrations using Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is expensive however it comes with a lot of smart functions that make up the cost. The live monitoring feature for homes is excellent and also looks great. It's a nice option for those with young children and pets, as well as anyone who needs to monitor their home when they're away. Most people who own a robotic mop and vacuum are amazed at the difference their floors can make after using them regularly.

It is also able to create customized cleaning routines you can launch at a single tap, such as a "After meals" mode that intensely vacuums and scrubs kitchen floors.

This two-in-one has an exclusive feature that isn't found on most other robots: VibraRise, self emptying Robot vacuums which raises the mopping plate once it detects carpeting, so it doesn't get the area rug wet and makes mopping more efficient. It also has a special deep-cleaning mode that vacuums and mops carpets in one pass, removing more dirt and dust than spinning mops can. The app can be used to schedule weekly cleanings, or to clean on the spot.

While the S7 Max Ultra does a excellent job in its tasks but it's not without a few drawbacks. The price is the biggest. It's also the most expensive robot vacuum and mop combination I've ever reviewed. The other issues aren't specific to this model and more representative of the robotic vacuum category as a whole It's not able to deal with heavy spills or large, sticky messes well.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to setup: just connect it and then sync it to your phone via Wi-Fi, and start a cleaning run. Once you've done that you can alter the settings within the app. For instance, you can set up no-go zones or schedule cleanings.

Another big bonus is its impressive obstacle avoidance system. In testing, it only slowed down twice in tight areas, which is better than the S6 MaxV's three attempts and the X1 Omni's four attempts. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstruction, and the S7 Max Ultra will ignore it when cleaning in the future.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is one of the few robots that integrates vacuuming and mops in its design. It's also one of the more affordable combo bots in our review. The Freo is a great choice for anyone who needs a combination cleaner. Its impressive cleaning performance, as its wide array of customization options, make it a great option. However, the absence of advanced obstacle avoidance technology and an attractive app dampened our enthusiasm for this model.

The first step to get the Freo running is a quick scan of your home which helps it determine the area it will cover while cleaning. This process takes about one minute. Once the Freo has a better understanding of where everything is, it will be able to navigate more quickly in subsequent cleanings.

Freo can also identify a room for dry vacuuming, or mopping. This lets it be more efficient in switching between these two tasks. It's also smart enough to detect the mop pads are dirty and then automatically return to the dock for refills, then head back out to clean and wet hard surfaces.

A key strength of the Freo is its ability to mop and vacuum well on carpets. The twin mop pads automatically rise when the Freo comes into contact with carpet. This allows it to use less energy and resources, while still getting rid of debris. It also gets rid of oatmeal and sand without having to make multiple passes with the vac/mop.

The Freo's side brush that is tilted is a tribute to street sweeper vehicles and does a great job in attracting and sweeping dirt particles. Its rounded body design and premium finish make the Freo an attractive appearance. You can interact with the robot using an LCD touchscreen at its base station, however we prefer to control it from the smartphone app.

The app has a range of options to customize Freo's behavior. This includes schedules for busy areas as well as spot cleanings. There's also the option of activating parental lock.
