BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is an innovative next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that can be accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter a specific key push sequence that isn't found available in the usual menus for media, like volume up/down, cruise control, source or aircon on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

It is designed to stop thieves from adding a new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network, and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate a unique push-sequence that must be entered before your engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack feature and once active any attempt to start the engine will be blocked. The system will honk the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stop the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without the need to enter the PIN.

If you have a GPS device that is connected to your BMW it could be used to disable the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked unsupervised. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.
