BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or installing a new lock to bypass the security system.

Like other immobilisers, The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost doesn't use LED indications or key-fobs. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarming sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you have previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop start feature, you may have noticed that once stopped the engine will continue to be running for approximately 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to monitor the vehicle for signals coming from the ignition key. Once it finds this, the vehicle will continue to operate. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that can be accessible via buttons that are installed in your car. This allows you to enter a specific key push sequence that isn't found in the normal menus for media, like volume up/down, cruise control, source or aircon on and stops your car from starting unless this is entered. Service Mode / Valet Mode

Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the technology in security systems has to evolve, this is why Ghost has developed this discreet and unobtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to prevent thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and then drive it away. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create an individual push sequence that requires to be entered before the engine can start.

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. You can also view your vehicle's location in real-time on a map on your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car whilst in motion.

The Ghost can be positioned on the dashboard or in the centre console. It is completely hidden and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is programmed into it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine starting. This prevents thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will enter service mode and disable all functions unless you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was developed to protect you vehicle from high-tech thieves who employ relay boxes to take it. Ghost can also stop "Relay-style Frequency Amplification". This is the most common method of preventing a vehicle from being stolen using a key fob that was copied or stolen by hacking. Ghost enables you to prevent this by installing an anti-theft device in your vehicle, called Secure-A-Key. The device is installed inside the key fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This can be accomplished with the majority of modern PKE keys.
