saab 900 key cars produced since 1994 use an immobilizer system that relies on a set of keys. A new transponder is required for addition of an extra key, and special programming. This is usually handled by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

The transponder key is a piece of hardware equipped with an electronic chip. It sends a signal to the car when it is inserted into the ignition. The car then checks the signal to determine if it matches the one that is in the key. If the signals are in sync then the car will be able to unlock and begin. Jump-starting the battery

The majority of people have a set of jumper cables in their trunk for emergency situations, but jumping a battery on modern vehicles might not be the best idea. These cars have a variety of digital and computer systems that communicate with one another. A voltage spike when a battery is connected to another could cause damage to the components and render your vehicle unusable.

Connect the cables to the vehicle operating. Allow it to run for two minutes. Attach the red clip on the positive terminal of the battery that's good. (It will read "POS" or "+".) Attach the other end to a clean unpainted metal surface under the hood of your disabled car. The engine block is a good choice.
