The WH1000XM5 works with Sony Headphones Connect, which offers a variety of features that can be used to personalize the audio experience. The app can be used to monitor your location and adapt ambient sound features to your surroundings. The device also has built-in microphones for making calls hands-free. The Sony WH1000XM5 can be used with music streaming via Bluetooth or wired connections using the cable included. They are compatible with aptX codecs, aptX HD codecs, and adaptive codecs that provide high-quality audio over Bluetooth.

The WH-1000XM5 has the same headband and ear cups to the XM4 however it is more lightweight and comfortable. They're comfortable to wear for long periods of time and are comfortable enough for commutes as well as longer flights. 2. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

Bowers & Wilkins flagship headphones which is the PX7 S2 have always been on top lists of wireless headsets since the release of the first-generation PX7 in the year 2015. This puts them in the same category as Sony WH1000XM5 or Bose's QuietComfort. The PX7 S2 is the latest version that takes the original headphones to the next level, with a boost in ANC performance and a refreshed design.

The bio-cellulose drivers that measure 40mm inside the earcups are angled so that they point directly at your eardrums. Vocals are clear and clear, and bass is rich and rumbly when it's needed to be.

The Bathys are gorgeous with their sleek black finish and swooping curves like Focal's premium open back Elear and closed-back Celestee headphones. The Bathys are made from premium materials such as magnesium and aluminum that makes them feel solid, comfortable, and well worth the price.

The Bathys Bluetooth headphones offer an impressive, clear sound quality. They easily outperform consumer ANC devices with similar prices like the Sony XM5/5 and Bose QC45. They can be improved further by using direct DAC audio mode which makes them a bona fide option for those who love hi-fi.

With the Focal and Naim app users can alter the playback controls of their headphones, virtual assistant, and Bluetooth pairing preferences. The app lets users select between silent and soft intensities for ANC. They can also alter the brightness of the LEDs on the earcups of the headphones, and alter the EQ settings. The app isn't complete but it has enough features to warrant the download.

The most notable flaw is that the active noise cancellation doesn't quite perform as well as the competition. The headphone doesn't eliminate all ambient noise as well as the highly rated XM5 and AirPods Max. Its treble accuracy is also a bit off and has a muddy mid to high range that takes away from the sound of instruments and vocals.

The Focal Bathys headphones aren't very transportable. The ear cups aren't foldable up and they weigh a bit more than their counterparts, which means they're not the best choice for use on the road. They are great for commuters and travelers. They also have a nice design that reflects premium quality, thanks to their robust construction and attractive matte finish.

They have a similar look to Sony's 1000X and XB910N earphone models. They sport a slim headband with the standard earcup hinges and a solid plastic build. They're light and comfortable to wear, but they feel a little too compressed for my taste. They come with a USB-C charging port, 3.5mm jack and a decent-length cable inside the box. They support multipoint Bluetooth, which means you can connect two devices at the same time if you want.

In my tests the CH720N's hybrid tech for noise cancellation did a fantastic job at reducing ambient noise. There were only a few small blips while walking through Waterloo Station and London Victoria. The sound-silencers weren't able to block every sound in the vicinity however they struggled with low-frequency sounds such as the rumbling engine sound of buses and trains.

The streaming of music via the CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth and exhibited a low level of harmonic distortion. I tried a variety of genres and discovered that they were able to handle the intricate interplay among instruments well. It did an excellent job of reducing the bass in rock tracks and keeping the mix focused.

The Sony Headphones Connect App allows you to alter the CH720N's multipoint connectivity as well as ANC settings to suit your preferences. You can also choose from a range of audio presets. The WH-CH720N offers a great value for PS130.
