This machine is expensive however it's great for cleaning up spills and dust. It is equipped with advanced programming to eliminate obstacles and can be set up in areas to mop or vacuum.

This robotic vacuum and mops combine an attractive design with the most advanced robotic technology. It is among the few robots that have these features and it performed very well during our tests.

Roborock redesigned its S8 Pro Ultra from last year's model. The focus was on improving the vacuum's object avoidance and increasing its cleaning power. The result is a more efficient and cleaner machine. It now comes with an improved suction motor as well as two rubber rollers in its floorhead, which make it better at cleaning up debris from bare floors and clearing pet hair from carpet. Its battery is now able to run up to 180 minutes and supports scheduled charging to reduce the cost of electricity.

The most notable change is the robot's new RockDock Ultra docking station, that does more than empty and clean its contents after every cleaning cycle. It also washes the mop pad, then dries it using warm air, and then refills its water tank. This is the only thing that sets it apart from competitors because it significantly reduces the time and effort that you spend managing its maintenance.

The S8 Pro Ultra comes with an easy-to-use configuration. It requires a Wi-Fi connection in order to download its companion app and connect it with its docking station. It comes with an extra mop pad and power cable. Now you're ready to get your hands dirty.

In our tests we found that the S8 Pro Ultra picked up most surface litter and embedded dirt on medium-pile carpet and unfinished floors. The power of its vacuum is a bit lower than our top choice, the Roomba j7+ by iRobot, but it's still an effective and versatile machine that's worth your time.

The app lets you create an interactive 3D home map, designate no-go zones and schedule specific cleaning timetables. The app displays an ongoing record of cleaning times and area coverage and lets you view the performance of each room and area. You can even assign a different cleaning mode to each space. You can also add voice control to your Echo device or smart speaker if you own one.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The iRobot Roomba j7+ is a great option for those looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum that also has the ability to mop. This model uses iRobot’s Imprint Smart Mapping Technology to create a floorplan of your home to ensure it cleans rooms as efficiently as it can. Other features include Dirt Detect to focus on areas that are more messy and Reactive Sensor Technology that helps the robot avoid obstacles that block its way.

The j7+, just like other iRobot products, Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop can be programmed to start cleaning even when you're not at home and stop when it's not finished. It can be controlled with the iRobot app, or via Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers. It responds better to voice commands than the majority of other robots, including the $599 self-emptying Neabot NoMo.

In addition to letting you control the robot by remote or Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop smartphone as well, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to set up the j7+, create the schedule, and tweak other settings. It will guide new users through a process of onboarding to help the robot map out their cleaning space and learn about their home.

The j7+ comes with a larger dustbin than most of the self-emptying robots that we've tried. It can hold more debris but you'll still need to empty the bin every seven to eight month (or more frequently if you have pet hair or large debris). iRobot sells filters and bags that can be replaced separately.

Another nice feature is the front camera on the j7+ that is claimed to help the robot recognize hazards such as power cords and pet waste and to avoid them. The camera isn't as good in low light, so you may want to consider a competitor with superior cameras, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

In the end, I was thrilled to find that the iRobot j7+ automatically empties its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal once it's docked. This is a huge improvement over most competitors which require you to manually open and empty the dust bin. It's a minor thing however it will save you some time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek and stylish robot that delivers impressive cleaning performance. It has a suction power of 5000Pa and comes equipped with a main floating brush and two-sided brushes that can take care of dirt on hard floors as well as in corners. It is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used for both vacuuming and mops. If the battery gets low, it can be returned to its dock. Smart features include an interactive home map, 3D mapping and automatic cleaning schedules.

The T10 Omni, just like other Deebot models, uses a separate tank for washing and to dry its mopping pad to avoid cross-contamination. The tank for cleaning can hold up to 4L of clean water which is enough to cover about 400 square meters. It's designed in a way that it can be filled up and then drained without getting wet or touching the pad.

One feature that distinguishes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its smart mapping technology, which creates a detailed 3D map of your home's layout. This enables the robot to detect obstacles more precisely and adjust its navigation, improving overall cleaning efficiency.

The ECOVACS app is simple to use, and offers a variety of customizable settings. The only drawback is the lack of the remote control. This might be frustrating for certain users.

The T10 OMNI is great at cleaning pet hair. It was able to remove most of the hair from my carpets after two cleaning cycles. It was able to even navigate through furniture that was blocking its route.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni is an outstanding option for anyone looking for a self-emptying mop and vacuum. Its mops have the same power as the vacuums and it has a more appealing design than Roomba. While it does not have a remote control, the T10's intelligent capabilities compensate for this absence. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleaning process. You can also schedule it and alter the settings of the device.

4. Shark ION Extended

The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self-emptying robotic vacuum is an ideal option for those looking to keep their homes clean without lifting a finger. It also provides exceptional performance. The robot vacuum has a big bin that can hold the equivalent of a month's worth dirt and the base can be set to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning run for storage that lasts longer. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums on the market for both hard and carpet floors, and it can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands. You can also make an outline of your home at any time. The robot is also able to navigate around furniture and traverse stairs and carpeted rooms with ease.

I tested the IONXL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood floors, area rugs and a standard debris test. It was excellent at cleaning up and removing pet hair, debris and even some of the more stubborn carpet crumbs. It was also very good in getting around my barstools and didn't hit them as the iRobot J7+ did in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL is unable to detect cords, toys and shoes that may be in its path which means you'll have to clean your home prior to using this vacuum if you want it to avoid these things.

The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not need to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's more easy to maintain and has lower costs for recurring maintenance. It's also better at vacuuming bare flooring and removing pet fur, but not as good on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It's also not as robust as the Roborock S8, but it is a great alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it can be controlled via an app and voice commands, and it is easy to keep up with maintenance. It's also a great price.
