The only issue is the lack of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a problem for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also bigger than those on many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes across the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and then moves along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The app will only inform you when something is not right for example, a low clean water tank or a cancelled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.

This feature is helpful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home, or in the event that you have to regularly get rid of clutter like clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from carpets as well as hardwoods in its first run. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The robot is still large--it is more than two feet in the height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that can be used even if you are not at home. It also comes with a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of following a predetermined path.

The X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested thanks to its rotating mop pads that remove tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding, and it also increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping mode of the robot is also very effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and robot vacuum that comes with a variety of convenience features that you don't often see on robots at this price range. It can build detailed floor maps, detect various flooring types and is among the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. But while these functions are useful, they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury and could mean it's a little more expensive than the average homeowner require.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim with a white finish accented with silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.

This allows the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops to vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4% of debris from our test on the hard floor and removing all but the most stubborn juice stain.
