To do this homeowners must first pry up or remove the siding that is above the window and then cut a drip cap to a length slightly larger than the window. After the drip cap is cut, it must be slipped under the flashing tape and nailed to sheathing with galvanized nails. The cap must be secured at both ends and fixed to the sheathing.
