Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the robot vacuum space, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping system that's impressive. But it's also expensive and is hampered by a clunky app with a steep learning curve.

To mop, you drop a sheet of detergent into the base station's clean water tank. Then it makes use of clean water to wash the pads and scrub floors using 10N pressure.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot vacuum and mop that is able to sweep clean, scrub, and scrub hard floors. Its intelligent navigation and mapping system is built on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also comes with anti-collision and cliff-sensing technologies that prevent the machine from accidentally crashing into furniture or falling down the stairs. Additionally, it is able to detect and avoid rugs, which can be a common issue with many robot vacuum/mop hybrids.

The robot is equipped with two large tanks of water, one for Robot vacuum & mop clean water and one for dirty. When it's time to mop, it automatically goes to its base station and pre-soaks its pads in clean water from the tank. During the mopping process sensors will notify you when it's time to swap pads and refill the water. It requires 16 ounces of water which is less water than other robots.

Once you've wiped the dirt off the mop pads, the T10 will return to its base station and auto-dry them to avoid cross-contamination. Then, it will resume its mopping job the same way it stopped. This reduces the need for manual hand washing which is a major benefit, since it shields your hands from bacterial and allergens. This self-cleaning feature is exclusive to Narwal since most rival robot vacuums and mops simply dip their mop heads in buckets of dirty water.

The T10's mopping mode is powered by a motor that turns the pad 3 times per second. This allows for thorough cleaning, particularly around corners and edges. The rotating pad is paired with two side brushes that sweep dirt, hair, and other debris into the slot. This eliminates the dust bin and is more environmentally friendly than traditional cleaning methods.

The app lets you create an outline of your home, allowing you to designate areas for both sweeping and mopping. The app allows you to choose cleaning intensity levels, including a thorough clean that removes any lingering debris and dirt to ensure a thorough job. You can also set "no-go" zones, which tell the robot vacuum & Mop to avoid area carpets or other obstacles.

Design

Performance

The Narwal Freo does an amazing job cleaning hard floors. The huge water tanks of the Narwal Freo are easy to maintain and it comes with a variety of mopping intensity settings. It also has the ability to clean up small spills and messes left on carpet. Its vacuuming capabilities are less impressive, but. The vacuum power of 1,800Pa is less than that of more expensive robovacuums, like the Roborock MaxV Ultra.

Smart mapping and navigation technology allows the Freo to adapt to an area and plan a cleaning routine that is optimized. It uses simultaneous mapping and localization (SLAM) in order to create a map of the area, and then works in a zigzag fashion so as to avoid cross-contamination and ensure a uniform finish. This map can be shared with narwal application, allowing you to alter cleaning settings or set zones that are not allowed to be used.

Once it's mapped, once it's mapped, the Freo will automatically start cleaning right where it left off. The mops themselves clean, and they return to their dock after each use to rinse and drying. This helps save time, and it keeps hands away from contact with dirt and allergens. The Freo also conserves water by only using 16 ounces of water each mopping cycle, which is around what you'd get in a grande-sized coffee cup.

This robot can easily switch from mopping to vacuuming. It's an excellent choice for people who have both types of equipment in their home. It has excellent sweeping abilities and does a good job getting rid of pet hair and other particles. Dual side brushes on the Freo allows it to get into corners more efficiently than single-brush vacuums. Its cliff-sensing and anti-collision functions also assist in avoiding getting stuck or hitting furniture.

The Narwal T10 is more expensive than its competition, despite being a good vacuum/mop combination. The Narwal T10's huge base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that have to be filled frequently. This can be annoying especially if you're accustomed to the more efficient filling tanks of other robots. The app is messy and frustrating and doesn't have the features for customization you'd expect from a best robot vacuum for dog hair that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is unique amongst all the other robovacs available. The T10 is a two-in-one self-cleaning device that was created from the ground-up. While some models offer superior mopping capabilities, with a vacuuming function added on, it was specifically designed to be a self-cleaning two-in-one device. Its sweeping and mopping capabilities are highly efficient and are easily controlled via the narwal app but it also has buttons on its base station that allow for manual cleaning during the cleaning session.

This feature is amazing because it allows the T10 to stay out of the way in your home and to track what it's doing.

Narwal also has the capability to mark "no-go" zones. If you'd like the T10 to avoid certain areas, mark them as no-go zones on the application and it will steer clear of them during cleaning sessions. This is helpful if have rugs in areas that you don't want the T10 to mop or vacuum on.
