1. iRobot S8

This smart robot vacuum and mop combo is an excellent choice for many homes. It features a superb navigation system with GPS and laser sensors. It also has numerous features and control options that can be accessed through the app. It comes with a useful feature which allows you to create Cleaning zones in areas that require extra attention, as well as Keep Out zones in areas you don't wish it to go. Like all Roomba devices, it is updated with new software updates that make it more efficient over time.

It's expensive, but it's also one of the most sophisticated robot vacuums ZDNet has ever tested. It has a high-powered battery that can clean a large home in under two hours. Additionally, it can switch between mopping and vacuuming at the touch of a button. And, unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the bin after each run, it automatically emptys itself into the larger waste container that is above its charging dock.

It's got a range of other features that make it a great option for most homes that include intelligent obstacle avoidance that utilizes both a camera and processor-powered smarts to detect obstacles. It is rarely derailed or stuck during a cleaning process. In my tests it was the most effective at avoiding objects like power cables. It is not as accurate in detecting pet waste, or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Eufy owned by Anker is now a household name in the world of robots that are budget-friendly vacuums. However, it did not provide an option to mop vacuum robot. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that comes with a variety of features that are advanced and can compete with more expensive models.

The laser navigation is the most important feature of this machine. The previous Eufy devices have created an outline of your home using infrared sensors and bumping into objects, but the X8's laser mapping technology is far more precise. It takes less time to build an extensive map of your home. It can also store multiple maps. This is great for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a good vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It can easily sling debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. The Tyres of the X8, despite their circular shape, are very good at grabbing corners and edges. Our tests revealed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur on hard floors.

The basic mopping mode utilizes the same reservoir of water as the vacuuming mode. This is great for spills that aren't too dangerous, robot Vacuum Mops but you are unable to control the amount of water it uses. It does, however, do an excellent job of picking up pet hair, and has a higher speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is renowned for its quiet, efficient appliances. It has a beautiful design, excellent navigation and an impressive cleaning power. But it has some operational issues which prevent it from being considered as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technique which uses LIDAR to map the space and a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and staying clear of obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). After the room has been mapped it is possible to designate virtual no-go areas and preferred sections to the robot. You can also begin a manual clean or manually change the cleaning mode, view a live feed from the onboard cameras, and more on the main screen.

The sensors of the RX2 work well in registering furniture and other obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping power are top-notch, picking up surface litter from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust in bare floors. It's not the fastest robot on the market. Like many other robots, it's not a good climber and has issues with things like metal threshold transition strips.

4. Shark ION

This round, budget robovac looks just like a typical robot, but it's a step up in terms of performance and features. Its smart mapping system creates 2D and 3D maps of your home and uses those to navigate and avoid obstacles. It's even able to spot common obstacles like power cords and furniture legs in real-time. This combination of sensors, together with a bump sensor, and an infrared drop sensor that keeps it from falling down the stairs make it one of the most flexible vacs we've tried.

It was able to walk over thick shag carpets and robot vacuum mops was not stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigational skills were impressive as well; its composite score in carpet and bare floors was better than the competition. It took in 98.5 percent of the surface pet hair and litter from our lab test samples.

This robot is simple to set up and use. It does not require a smartphone application or Wi-Fi pairing. However, it does come with a remote control which lets you select between different modes and adjust suction levels. You can also send the robotvac on an cleaning schedule.

In our tests, we found that the 11S was extremely efficient at removing dirt and fur from carpets and floors with low pile. Its slim profile made it possible to pass under furniture that is low-hanging and other items that some bulkier robots could not reach. It was also able to easily get over thresholds for doors and change between floors and another.

The 11S, just like other robots, can also eat some objects, such as cords and cat toys. The manufacturer states that you can stop this by keeping these objects off the floor and using the possibility of a cord organizer. It also recommends that you clean the dustbin, replace the filters, and wash or change the brushes as required.

Roomba 990 from iRobot

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's most popular robot vacuum. It's expensive but it's the best robot vacuum you can buy. Its self-navigating capabilities and environmental mapping are something to behold. It also has more advanced automation features than many competitors, including the ability to set virtual boundary lines using its mobile app. Although the app is a little sluggish and the 980 can spin out a bit when rolling over cables, it's a very capable Robot Vacuum mops vacuum.

One thing we really like about the 980 is that it makes use of its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and visual simultaneous localisation and mapping technology (or vSLAM) to store the floor plan of your home. It will then use the information to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that capture dirt on carpets and hard floors, as well as a spinning brush to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum’s bin. Its floor tracking sensors help it navigate around furniture and along edges, while Cliff Detect helps to prevent the Roomba from falling down the stairs. And it automatically returns to its base station for easy charging between sessions. The battery life and bin capacity of the 980 aren't as good as other robot vacuums. However, it's a solid and reliable machine that will keep floors clean for many hours.
