The Q5 is among the most slow robots we've tested however, its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't need any extra attention after the first time it passes through the space. It begins by tracing the perimeter of the space and then fills in the interior with parallel lines. When it's done, it returns to its charging station or its starting location if it left the base.

It did a great job of cleaning hardwood floors, sucking up at least 88% of the dirt for each test. It struggled a bit more on carpets with high and low piles however, it was better than the average unit. It also comes with mopping attachments for dealing with wet spills, although we didn't test this feature.

Its maneuverability, which is higher than average for a lidar robot is the fact that it can hit furniture or other obstacles with a soft bump.
