1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of robot vacuum mop hybrids. This wet-dry model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual laser LiDAR, similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub hard areas unlike traditional mopping. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms by the corners and edges as well as create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the center of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop using hot water before beginning another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It only takes some minutes. You can then launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes, including creating specific areas for sweeping and mopping, reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni did a great job during my tests, with outstanding scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results for cleaning crevices and edges.

It also has a large water tank that allows for frequent washing and drying between mopping runs.

The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to take on tough dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly option from a well-known brand is the most affordable robot we've ever tested and provides an exceptional value for the money. Its navigation system is basic and uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to reach under furniture and in corners, and its mopping mode worked very well in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a fair job on low-pile carpet and also makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for greater maneuverability. It also lets you assign it to a specific room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features includes no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also allows you to pause and resume cleaning which is ideal for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris, and its bagless self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days worth of dirt before needing to be empty. It has a set of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, allergens and dander.
