The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated features, but it lacks no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its smart-pathing system allows for greater maneuverability, and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective but it could get stuck on the tassels of the rug.

In our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to get rid of the majority of hair on bare floors and a good amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective with shag carpets, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a more suitable choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is better at navigating around obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can deal with sticky messes. On the other side, the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance and has lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to even resume a cleaning session from the point it started if it has run out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice, which is a huge benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S by eufy isn't exactly the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at an affordable price. This vacuum was designed for budget-conscious consumers who don't require a complicated mapping system, or an app to control it. The robot can run for up to an hour and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The eufy11S did well in our tests to remove larger debris and fine dust from hard floors. However, it struggled to give medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device is capable of bumping into furniture and people along its course. However, it is able detect these obstacles using sensors. If it encounters them it ceases to move and emits a loud beep so you can manually steer it through the obstacle before getting back to work.

Another fantastic feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match the floor type and level of dirt. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to the desired location.

If you don't have a lot of furniture in the area you're looking to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent option. The eufy can spend 30 minutes intensely cleaning the area that it's assigned.
