It is one of the few robots that have these features, and it performed well during our tests.

Roborock has revamped its S8 Pro Ultra from last year's model. The focus was on improving the vacuum's object avoidance and enhancing its cleaning power. The result is a cleaner and more reliable machine. It now has an improved suction motor as well as two rubber rollers in its floorhead, which help in cleaning up debris from the floor and removing pet hair off carpet. Its battery is now rated to last for up to 180 minutes, and it also supports scheduled charging to help lower electricity costs.

The S8 Pro Ultra's cleaning power falls a little short of our top pick, iRobot's Roomba J7+. However, it is still a versatile and capable machine that is worth a look.

The app allows you to create a 3D home map in which you can designate no-go zones, and schedule specific cleaning times. The app displays the running records of cleaning times and coverage of areas and lets you view the performance of each room and the area. You can even assign different cleaning methods to each space. If you have an Echo device or other smart speaker, you can use it to add voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The iRobot Roomba j7+ is a fantastic option for those looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum that also has the ability to mop. This model utilizes iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping technology to create the floor plan of your home, which means it can clean rooms in the most efficient manner possible. Dirt Detect helps the robot concentrate on areas that are more messy, and Reactive Sensor Technology helps it to avoid obstacles.

As with other iRobot models, the j7+ can be programmed to begin cleaning when you're away and stop when you return before it's done. The T10 cleaning tank can hold upto 4L clean water. This is enough to mop 400m2. It's designed in such the way that it can be refilled and drained without getting wet or touching the pad.

The T10's intelligent mapping technology is one of the features that sets it apart from other robot vacuum mop combo self empty vacuums. It produces a detailed 3D map of the layout of your home. This enables the robot to detect obstacles with greater precision and to adjust its navigation, improving overall cleaning efficiency.

The ECOVACS App is simple to use, and has many settings that can be changed. The only drawback is the absence of the remote control. This could be a niggle for certain users.

The T10 OMNI does an excellent job of removing pet hair. It was able remove the majority of the fur from my carpets after two cleaning cycles, and was able to even navigate around some furniture that was blocking its path.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an excellent choice for those looking for a self-emptying mop and vacuum. The mop has the same power as the vacuums and it has a more attractive design than Roomba. While it does not have the remote control, its smart capabilities will make up for the lack of one. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION the XL

The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self-emptying robotic vacuum is an ideal choice for those who want to keep their homes clean without having to lift a finger. It also has exceptional performance. The vacuum comes with large bins which can hold the equivalent of a month's worth dirt and the base can be set to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning run for storage that lasts longer. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums that are available for carpets and hard floors, and it can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot with an app or voice commands. You can also design a map to clean your home on demand. The robot can also navigate around furniture and traverse stairs and carpeted rooms effortlessly.

I tried the ION XL using our standard test for debris in a family room as well as a kitchen with hardwood floors and area rugs. It was excellent at cleaning up pet hair and debris off the floors, and also took care of some of the more stubborn dust particles on carpets. It also did a great job maneuvering and didn't bump into my bar stools as did the iRobot J7+ did in this test. The only drawback to the ION XL is that it does not detect cords, shoes, or toys that are in its path. It is recommended to clean your house before you start this robotic vacuum if want it to avoid them.

The ION XL may not be as efficient as the iRobot j7+, but it is a good alternative if you don't want to spend more than $500 for cleaning robots. It's superior to the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being simpler to maintain and best self emptying robot vacuum and Mop incurring lower recurring expenses. It is also better at cleaning floors with no carpet and picking up pet fur, but not as good on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It's not as robust as the Roborock S8, but it is a great option. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it can be controlled with an app and voice commands, and is easy to keep up with maintenance. It's also a reasonable price.
