1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet-dry model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mopping. In my tests, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to clean its pad and begin work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than previous models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dustbin, and robot vacuum mops clean the mop using hot water, before starting another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. It takes just a few minutes to put the dock in place, plug it in, and pair with your home Wi-Fi network. You can then open the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture on the wall and much more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you're looking for a strong combination of mopping and vacuuming then check out the EcoVACS Deebot Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line offered by the company and comes with the brand new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brush for better cleaning than conventional scrubbers. It has YIKO, an artificial language processing technology that is a first of its kind. It can respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads in accordance with your needs. This is fine for most households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is a fantastic robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It also did a fantastic job on tile and carpet cleaning up more than 99percent of dirt and other debris.

Like other mopping machines such as the Deebot T10, this one features a wash tray in its base that rinses and dries its mop pads as it uses them. It doesn't have a removable tray so dust, dirt and other grime will gradually build up at the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the robot vacuum space but this model is its first venture into the realm of mopping. It features improved intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner although it can't quite deliver on its promise to be an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with sweeper wheels and an elevated sensor area. On the opposite side there's a motorized floorbrush as well as one side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found to be easier to get under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system lets you define no-mop areas as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things like its charging station, and isn't very good in climbing over carpets. It was good at picking up pet hair from bare floors. In our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter.

While it's controllable via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which let you select a cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's a bit chatty, and will tell you what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something's wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for example).

The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large carpet, hard floors and carpet, but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck on power cords, toys or other unexpected obstacles.

In our test of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in one pass. It did have some issues with rugs but, generally speaking this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have floors of different types and a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey but if you're able to manage the price, it's a great purchase for those who want to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and is equipped with a battery-powered ElectroWall that allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to enter.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular new brand is the most affordable we've tested and provides incredible value for money. Its navigation system is basic and uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed very well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as sturdy as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and bare floors. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It also allows you to transfer it to a particular room, and its advanced suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It lets you suspend and restart cleaning sessions making it ideal for homes that have pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt before needing to be cleaned. It has a set of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens and dander.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It is compatible with a smartphone application that allows you to change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app lets you see the remaining battery life of the iQ, and send push notifications if it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can also control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark out areas with physical boundary lines.
