The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is one of the most affordable self-emptying vacuums available that are available. In our tests it was able clean up dry oats on hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile. Its dustbin opens and empties quickly, making it much easier to use than other models in its price.

The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model equipped with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks let the robot return to its home base after a cleaning session and empty the debris it has collected into a dust collection bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work in tandem to eliminate obstacles and clean the floors. It can detect flooring types and save a map of rooms and zones and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot-cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in standard tests, however it couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ during the carpet deep cleaning test.

Utilizing the companion app, you can program the S7 to run a cleansing cycle according to your schedule. You can specify a time, day, or week and select among a range of cleaning modes such as automatic, eco and deep clean. You can also select whether the robot will cease operation if its power runs out or when it comes across an obstruction.

It's easy to set up, comes with a huge bin that is easy to empty (albeit a bit loudly) into a trash can when it's full and is easily programmed to complete a home clean on a regular basis or as required.

The bin can hold up to 60 days' worth of waste, so it won't need emptying more often than that unless you have several pets with long hair. If you must empty it, all you need to do is detach the side bin, put it up to a trash can and press a button that will let you eject its contents.

The Shark IQ XL is a good vacuum cleaner. It does a good job cleaning floors that are not bare and can maneuver itself well. However it's not the best choice for carpeted floors. Shark IQ XL feels a slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It does a good job in cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of bare floor performance. The i7 is also better-built and feels more durable and robust, has less demanding maintenance requirements, incurs lower recurring costs, is faster to charge, and offers comparable battery performance, and offers much more advanced automation features such as no-go zones and the ability to pick specific rooms for a clean.

4. iRobot J7+

This robotic mop and vacuum combination is a rare machine that can perform both tasks efficiently. iRobot Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts and features similar to its j7 counterpart including LiDAR map and self-emptying. It also comes with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ recognize flooring types, meaning it can decide between mopping and vacuuming during the first time it passes through the room. The j7+ did well in our tests on carpeted and hard floors, getting rid of most of the dirt that we tossed at it. It isn't able to deal with pet hair, large debris and sand. But it can remove them with a bit more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that stop it from falling down stairs or becoming caught on furniture legs.

The J7+ has a few small flaws, namely that it could get caught on rugs or cords and doesn't always switch off the mopping feature when it is done vacuuming. In all other respects, it's an excellent model that checks all the right boxes.

The j7+ from iRobot also has one of the best self-emptying systems we've seen. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, where it automatically empties for you. This reduces the amount of trash you must get rid of. You will only have to replace the dust disposal bag at the dock every 60 days, based on the frequency you use the J7+.
