It also was able to suck up pet fur but it was unable to handle finer debris, such as baking soda.

One thing that sets the 960 apart from other Roomba models is that it uses an extra dustbin to collect large debris that reduces maintenance needs. You can empty it at the press of a button, either through the iRobot HOME app, or using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands.

The iRobot HOME App lets you customize each cleaning cycle. You can set the number passes and select from a variety of modes like edge clean, or a full room sweep. It can also send an alert when it's nearly to empty the dirt container.

The 960 is simple to use and has buttons on top and controls available in the iRobot Home app or via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It's also simple to maintain and has an indicator at the top that shows battery's lifespan and docking station that automatically moves debris from the dirt compartment to the trash bin when you're ready to empty it. The iRobot HOME App also provides you with how-to videos and show the location of every object it has collected. The battery longevity of the 960 may not be ideal, but it's good enough to allow you to use it all day long without having to worry about recharging prior to the time of bed. The Roomba 970 of iRobot.

The Roomba 970 is a robot vacuum cleaner that works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. It utilizes the same advanced navigation system that is used in other new iRobot models and can even detect stairs, something that can be a problem with other vacuums. It also uses a central camera to scan the floor as it moves around and detect walls, furniture and other obstacles so that it doesn't hit things. This model is different from previous models as it utilizes lithium-ion batteries instead of nickel metal hydride. It's now able to run longer between charges and has greater endurance when cleaning. It's not as quick as the Shark AI Robot but it can navigate a space easily.

Like the other models of the 960 series the 970 can be controlled via the iRobot app and connects to your Wi-Fi network without installation required. The robot comes with a small handle which you can use to return it manually to its charger. Spot-cleaning allows you to concentrate on a specific area in your home. The 960 series models feature the same three-stage cleaning procedure like other iRobot models, which incorporates agitation with power-lifting suction to thoroughly clean the floor and remove dirt.
