2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

Although Anker-owned Eufy has made its name in budget robot vacuums, it's never offered an all-in-one model which can also mop. That changes with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive set of modern features that can compete against much more expensive models.

Laser navigation is the most important feature of this machine. The X8 makes use of a laser mapping system that is more accurate than previous Eufy devices. It also takes significantly less time to create an accurate map of your home and can store multiple maps, which is great for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to effortlessly sling debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. The Roomba 980 is iRobot's flagship robot vacuum. It's costly, but it's an excellent performer and is arguably the most sophisticated robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigating capabilities and environmental mapping are a wonder to behold. It also has more advanced automation features than its competitors, including the ability to set virtual boundary markers using its mobile app. It's a capable robot vacuum, even if its application is a bit slow and the 980 spins when it comes across cables.

One thing we really like about the 980 is that it makes use of its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to store the floor plan of your home. It uses this information to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that grab dirt on floors and carpets, as well as an ejector brush that spins to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum's bin.
