Then, measure the spindle that protrudes from the underside of your handle. You can order a replacement or bring it to a shop selling hardware for matching. Then, remove the setscrew from the operator shaft. File it flat to allow the set screw to lock onto the shaft. Then, your uPVC windows should be closing without a hitch.

Broken Hinges

You will have difficulty opening or closing your uPVC windows if the hinges are broken or aren't working correctly. This could cause an issue with security and stop your home from staying cool or warm. You can easily get an entirely new hinge for your uPVC window. However, it's important to ensure that you have the right hinge for your windows.

This is because the hinges need to be the same size to fit in the frame of the window. The most popular hinge for uPVC windows are standard 18mm or UPVC 15mm hinges for windows. There are also special hinges for wooden frames. The proper hinge will allow you to avoid common problems with your windows.
