The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is one of the most affordable self-emptying vacuums that are available. It efficiently sucked up dry oats from hard floors and carpets with a low pile during our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and open -much easier than other models in the same price range.

It recharges at the base and then resumes cleaning when at its best self-emptying robot vacuum for pet hair. But its obstacle-avoidance system is caught in socks and cords and it's unable to operate under low thresholds.

1. iRobot 11S

The 11S is a more affordable self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that many people seem to love. It is great at scooting underneath furniture and is a good option for people with hard floors or for daily cleaning. Its suction might be less powerful than those of our top picks, however it gets the job done. It also comes with a huge dirt bin and a battery which lasts for more than an hour. The app allows you to schedule your daily cleaning or pick a room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which will aid in avoiding areas you don't want it to go to.

The app is simple to use and has a simple layout. It doesn't come with any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and makes it easy to keep track of the progress of your robot. It also comes with an informative tutorial that can provide you with the basics.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a great robot with an array of amazing automated features. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three versions that include the basic S7 model and the S7 Plus model and the S7 Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternate Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base, empty the collected debris into a dust bag or reservoir, drain the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads.

The S7's sensors work to avoid obstacles and clean the floors. It can recognize floor types, save the map of rooms and zones, and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in our standard tests, but it wasn't able to quite match the iRobot Roomba j7+ in our carpet deep clean test.

With the companion app you can program the S7 to run a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. You can select the cleaning mode like eco or automatic, and a day, week or even a time. You can also select whether the robot will stop if it runs out of power or encounters an obstacle.

If you don't own a smartphone however, you can still utilize the S7 by connecting a remote to the charging dock. The controls are difficult at first but they're very efficient after you've become accustomed to them. The power button functions as a general 'Clean' button and the "Spot Clean" button directs the robot to clean the area around it. The 'Spot Clean' button also activates the child lock.

Shark's robot vacuums aren't as a hit than those from iRobot or Roborock. But our tests have shown that this model is among the most effective self-emptying vacuums on the market. It is simple to set up, comes with a huge bin that is easy to empty (albeit somewhat loudly) into a trash can when full and is easily programmed to complete a whole-home clean on a schedule or when needed.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi, which allows you to monitor it from the Shark app and check its battery status as it cleans. The i7 is also better-built, feels more durable and robust, has lower maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, is faster to charge, and offers comparable battery performance, and comes with the most advanced automation features like no-go zones and the ability to select certain rooms to be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combo is a rare find, because it can do both tasks exceptionally efficiently. iRobot Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts and features of its j7 equivalent, including LiDAR maps and self-emptying. It also comes with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ to identify flooring types, meaning it can decide between mopping and vacuuming when it first enters the room. It also makes use of this information to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpet and rug flooring over rooms with hard floors.
