During our testing, we found that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of floor surfaces, from hard to medium-pile carpets and rugs. It also did well on vinyl flooring, and laminate flooring. It was capable of maneuvering around furniture and objects, however it had some trouble with stairs where it might accidentally hit bookcases.

The S9's ability to return to its base and empty its dust bin after it is full was an excellent feature. It cut down on the necessity for manual maintenance. The dust bin is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and a half. It's recommended to replace the filter periodically (as recommended by iRobot). In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation which makes it a good option for those living with pets or children.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It is prone to miss fur and small items and can cause bumps to objects, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet and the whirring noise can be distracting like other models.

Roborock V3S pro

This robot doesn't have the same number of features as the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does have the basics covered. It has a large enough dust bin that can hold plenty of dirt before it's time to empty it and its vacuum and mop system is perfect for carpets that are hard and low-pile. It's also very quiet and we could watch the TV while it was working without feeling like it was blazing us with noise.

Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and were impressed by its capacity to clean all the mess out of their flooring. It also did a excellent job of removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, although it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was easy to use and user-friendly. They were able set up the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on manual work. The one downside is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance, which means you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips work).

The V3S Pro is another model in iRobot’s affordable line. It has some impressive features at an affordable price. It beat out all other robotic vacuums we tested when it comes to mapping and avoiding obstacles, and is the ideal option for those who want a smarter self-emptying robot vacuum that is able to handle pet hair and messes on both hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting. It's also quiet and has a huge dust bin which can hold a lot of dust before it has to be empty.

The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top rated robot vacuum choice lists of trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, however the battery life was not long.
