The j7+ has a bigger dust bin than the other self-emptying robot vacuums that we've tested. The T10 OMNI is excellent at cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able to remove most of the pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to navigate through furniture that were blocking its way.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an excellent option for those looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum and mop. The mop it comes with is as powerful as its vacuums, and it comes with an attractive design than the Roomba. Although it lacks a remote control, the T10's intelligent capabilities will make up for the lack of one. With the app, you can quickly start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter the settings of the device.

4. Shark ION XL

The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self emptying robot vacuum and mop-emptying robotic vacuum, is a great choice for those who want to clean their homes without lifting a finger. It also offers exemplary performance. The vacuum comes with large bins which can hold a month's worth of dirt, and the base can be set to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning session to store it for a longer period of time. The ION XL is one of the best robot vacuums on the market, suitable for carpets and hard floors, and it can also sweep and mop your floor. It can be controlled with an app or voice commands, and you can even create an outline of your house to clean every room on demand. The robot can also maneuver around furniture and can traverse stairs and carpeted rooms easily.

I tried the ION XL with our standard test for debris in a family space and kitchen with hardwood floors and area rugs. It was excellent at cleaning up and removing pet hair, debris and even some of the more difficult to remove carpet crumbs. It was also adept at moving and didn't hit my bar stools like the iRobot J7+ in this test. The only downside is that the IONXL cannot detect toys, cords and shoes that may be in its path which means you'll have to pre-clean your house before using this vacuum to avoid these things.

The ION XL robotic cleaner is not as intelligent as the iRobot J7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't need to spend more than $500 on a robot. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also easier to maintain and requiring lower recurring costs. It also performs better of vacuuming floors with no carpet and picking up pet hair, but it does not perform as well on low- or high-pile carpet.

It's also not as sturdy as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it can be controlled via an app and voice commands, and is easy to keep up with routine maintenance. It also has a reasonable price.
