This allows you to bring your vehicle to the garage for servicing or repairs, or other maintenance. without having to worry that it will be altered by mechanics while you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated it will block your BMW from being driven once started, this prevents anyone from attempting to test drive the vehicle while you are away. Once you return, the car will return to normal operation and will not be altered or stolen.

When the anti-hijacking feature is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will sharpen the horn flashing the indicators, and stop the vehicle if the code is not found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be disabled by entering your push sequence or by enabling service mode, which allows your vehicle to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

If you own a GPS device that is connected to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, so you can still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and unattended.
