They also feature excellent noise cancellation that automatically increases the volume when needed to tackle commuters and airplanes.

They are excellent at reducing low-frequency sounds such as bus rumbles and mid- and treble-range noises like chatter from passengers and ambient chatter from an office with a lot of activity. While they're not as efficient at cancelling high frequencies, like the bass of Foo Fighters tracks or treble in Miles Davis recordings, their performance still far exceeds most other premium headphones.

The XM5s is the most recent version of the WH1000X series by Sony It comes with an updated design and new features.
