The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It's a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the advanced features that are found in its more expensive sibling.

In tests, it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to map out your home.

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and a variety of features that include an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your cleaning habits, and recommend automatic schedules that will give you an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once the system is setup it can begin cleaning automatically with just one button. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do, and it can even clean up pet hair without difficulty. It's not able to work with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it hug walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an advanced filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating in your home. We think it's a nice statement but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundaries to ensure that the robot is aware of which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

For the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or even watch television without being distracted. What sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for human intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the bin hidden from view, as well as cleans and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is wrong for example, the water tank being empty or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to a full bin.

You can also create and merge actual rooms to alter the way that Q Revo will treat your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different floor materials or if there's some clutter that needs to be cleared out regularly, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the best inexpensive robot vacuum performers in my tests, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills, though I recommend wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you can want. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, and a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them free of germs and ready to use again. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture and other objects.

The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its modern, sleeker design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet high and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when required.

Additionally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, so you can control it even when you're not at home. It also comes with more mopping options and a smart routing feature that allows you to clean certain rooms or areas of your house instead of just following a specific route.

The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested thanks to its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a huge battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as anything we've seen in an ordinary robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that has a range of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect various flooring types, and it's one of the few that can automatically wash and dry the mop pads. While these features are useful, they also make the L10s Ultra more in the category of luxury, which might make it somewhat more expensive than some homeowners require.

The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage when moving around the home.
