Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum market, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping combination that's impressive. It's expensive and hindered by a slow, clunky learning-curve application.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot vacuum and mop that is able to sweep, scrub, and clean hard floors. Its innovative navigation and mapping system is built on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also features anti-collision and cliff sensing technologies that help keep the machine from accidentally crashing into furniture or falling down stairs. In addition, it can detect and avoid rugs which is a common issue for automatic cleaning vacuum robot many robot vacuum/mop hybrids.

The robot is equipped with two large water tanks: one for clean water and one for dirty. When it's time to mop it will automatically head to its base station and pre-soaks its pads with the clean water from the tank. During the mopping process sensors will inform you when it is time to change the pads and refill the water. It consumes 16 ounces of water, which is less water than other robots.

The T10 will automatically dry the pads after you've cleaned them. This will prevent cross-contamination. Then, it resumes the mopping task the same way it left off. This makes it less necessary to perform hand washing by hand which is a major plus, as it protects your hands from bacterial and allergens. This feature is exclusive to Narwal. It uses simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) to build an image of its surroundings. It works in a zig-zag fashion to ensure an even finish and avoid cross-contamination. This map can be shared with Narwal application, which allows you to modify cleaning settings or set no-go zones.

Once the Freo has been identified and is able to continue cleaning the area it left. Its mops are self-cleaning, and they return to their dock after each use for rinsing and drying. This reduces time and keeps hands free from dirt and allergens. The Freo conserves water as well by using only 16 oz per mopping cycle. This is the equivalent amount of water used in a large coffee cup.

The robot is able to easily change from mopping to vacuuming. It's a great choice for people who have both in their home. Dual side brushes on the Freo allow it to be more effective at reaching corners than single-brush vacuums. Its cliff-sensing, anticollision and anti-stuck functions also help it avoid getting stuck or hitting furniture.

While it's a good best Rated vacuum mop/mop set-up however, the Narwal T10 is pricier than most of its rivals. The Narwal T10's large base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that have to be filled frequently. This can be annoying, especially if you're used to the tanks that fill faster of other robots. The app is cluttered and uninspiring, and lacks the features for customization you'd expect from a robot that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is unique amongst all the other robovacs available. While most others tout great vacuuming skills with a mopping feature added on the T10 was developed as a self-cleaning two-in-one machine from the ground up. Its sweeping, mopping and other features are efficient and simple to control through the mobile app narwal. Buttons on the base station allow manual adjustments mid-cleaning.
