1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum combo is a great choice for many households. It has a great navigation system that incorporates GPS and laser sensors. The laser navigation system is the main selling point of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have created an outline of your home using infrared sensors and bumping into things but the X8's laser mapping system is far more precise. It takes less time to create an accurate map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is ideal for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is still a decent vacuum for floors that are not clean and can sling debris over its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are efficient at grabbing corners and edges. Our tests revealed that it was able to remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.

The basic mopping mode utilizes the same reservoir of water as the vacuuming mode. This is great for spills that are not dangerous, but you are unable to regulate the amount of water it uses. That said, it does an admirable job of picking up pet hair, and has a higher percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is renowned for its quiet, efficient appliances. It features a stunning design, excellent navigation and an impressive cleaning power. However, it has some operational issues that prevent it from being ranked as the top overall smart robot vacuum.

One thing we really like about the 980 is that it uses its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneous localisation and mapping technology (or vSLAM) to store the floor plan of your home. It then uses this information to design an efficient and consistent cleaning path for each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum than other high-end robot vacuums.

The 980's other features include dual multi-surface rubber brushes which pick up dirt from hard floors and carpet as well as a spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. The floor tracking sensor assists it in maneuvering around furniture, along edges and on stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling.
