The laser navigation is the primary selling point of this machine. Previous Eufy devices have created a rough map of your home by using infrared sensors and bumping into things, but the X8's laser mapping technology is far more precise. It also takes significantly less time to build up an accurate picture of your space and stores multiple maps, which is great for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It is able to easily throw debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. The tyres are adept at hugging corners and edges, even though they are circular. It's not a great kitty litter picker, though as our tests show it only removes about 90% of the fur from hard floors.

The basic mopping mode utilizes the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is great for spills that aren't too big but you cannot control how much water it is using which can limit its effectiveness when dealing with more serious stains.
