Most new cars on the market today have keyless fobs that permit drivers to lock and unlock their vehicle without having to insert the physical key. They can be heavy and motorists are more likely to lose or break them.

Keyless Entry

With BMW Digital Key, you can lock and unlock your vehicle by tapping your smartphone. To begin, download the app from Apple Wallet or Google Play Store and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have connected your mobile phone that is compatible with your BMW Connected Account, you can share your account with up to five family members or friends who also use the app. If they accept your invitation, they can unlock your vehicle and start it without the need for a physical key. Battery Replacement

If you own a Display Key with a touchscreen you'll need to adopt a different approach. The Display Key is water resistant but not as waterproof as an ordinary fob. You must be careful not to expose it too much water. It is able to withstand even a trip through the washer, but it's best to treat it like an iPhone. Don't be concerned about rain as long as it is kept clear of water.
