Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

The best method to keep your home clean is to use a robotic vacuum. It can remove pet hair, dust, and other particles on the surface.

1. iRobot s8

This smart robot vacuum and mop is a fantastic choice for many homes. It has a great navigation system with GPS and laser sensors. It also has a lot of features and controls that are accessible through the app. It has a handy feature which allows you to create Cleaning zones in areas that require more attention, and also to create Keep Out zones in areas you don't wish it to go. As with all Roomba devices, it receives new software updates that make it more efficient over time.

It's costly, but it's also one of the most advanced robot vacuums that ZDNet has tested. It has a high-powered battery that can sweep a large home in under two hours. And unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the dust bin after each run, it automatically empties into the larger waste container that is above its charging dock.

It has a wide range of other features that make it an excellent choice for homes with a lot of space with its intelligent obstacle avoidance, which uses both a camera and processor-powered intelligents to identify obstacles. It's not often tripped or stuck during a cleaning cycle. In my tests it was the best vacuum and mop combo for laminate floors in avoiding objects such as power cables. It's not as reliable in detecting pet waste, or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

While the Anker-owned Eufy has made an impact in budget robot vacuums, it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model that can also mop. That changes with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive set of modern features and is able to compete against much more expensive models.

The laser navigation system is the main selling point of this machine. The X8 uses the laser mapping system, which is more precise than the previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to build a comprehensive map of your home. It can also store multiple maps. This is perfect for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is still a decent vacuum for floors that are not clean that can carry debris under its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The Tyres of the X8, despite their circular shape, are very efficient at grabbing edges and corners. It's not a great kitty litter picker, though as our tests show it only removes about 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

There's a mopping mode that utilizes the same water tank as the vacuuming. This is great for spills that are not serious, but you cannot regulate the amount of water it consumes. It is effective at picking up hair from pets. It has a higher pick-up rate than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is known for its quiet, powerful appliances. It features a stunning design, excellent navigation and a powerful cleaning power. There are a few niggles in its operation, which prevent it from being named the top smart robot vacuum.

Similar to the latest models of iRobot and models, the RX2 has a dual-sensor mapping system which uses the LIDAR sensor to map a room and a pair of 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real time. Once the room has been mapped, you can assign virtual no-go zones and preferred sections to the robot. You can also start an automatic clean or manually change the cleaning mode, view a live feed from the cameras onboard and more on the main screen.

The RX2's sensors work well in registering furniture and other obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping capabilities are exceptional, removing surface litter from carpets of medium pile and also removing embedded dust on bare floors. However, it's not the most flexible robot available. As with many others it's not a great climber and is prone to problems with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.

Some people buy robot vacuums for the convenience of setting up a schedule using an app, only to forget about them for weeks. But it's important that a robot is able to do the job that's why our ZDNet staff looked over and tested a number of the most popular models to help you find the right one for your home.

4. Shark ION

This budget robot looks like your standard robot, however it's an upgrade in terms of performance and features. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2D maps of your home, and uses them to avoid obstacles and navigate. It can even detect common obstacles like furniture legs and power cords in real time. This combination of sensors together with a bump sensor and an infrared sensor for dropping that keeps it off stairs, makes it one of the fastest vacuums we've tried.

In our tests, it effortlessly climbed over thick shag rug and didn't end up stuck on them (like the RoboVac 11s or robotvacuummops Roomba 690). Its navigation skills were impressive as well as its score for robotvacuummops composite tests on carpet and bare floors beat out the competition and it took in 98.5 percent of the surface pet hair and litter from our lab test samples.

Its controls are a bit more basic than the competitors. There's a round cleaning button on the top and you can start it from the app, or by voice command with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule daily or weekly cleanings, create no-go zones and check the history of cleaning. Ion is covered in a stylish dark gray plastic that is both attractive and attractive in your home. The rear dust bin is easy to empty and cleaning the filter is the same.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a great choice if you want an automated vacuum cleaner that is simple and has no frills at a cost that is low.
