Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a string of social media posts suggesting it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Space Key, developed in collaboration with a non-publicized artist and based upon advanced carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been announced by Lamborghini.

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker has taken the first step into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project, called the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with an unidentified artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that can be accessable via the use of a QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material that Lamborghini, as part a research project in 2019 sent to the International Space Station. Once it returned to earth, the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this distinctive artwork. The physical element is embossed with an NFT serial number which ties to the corresponding digital artwork by using an QR code on the back.

NFTs for those who are not familiar, are unique identifiers that are stored on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and linked to a digital asset like a photograph or video, song or any other kind of record. This allows owners to ensure the authenticity, scarcity and tracking of their tokens across the internet.

Working with NFT PRO which is a white-label NFT solution for companies, Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art to the next level. Over the next few weeks, Lamborghini will reveal details about this exciting project including the name of the unknown artist, as well as the timeline for the auction.

After a series of social media posts that teased something space-related, the Italian supercar maker Lamborghini introduced the world of non-fungible (NFT) tokens with an exclusive project named Space Key. The NFT was developed in collaboration with a mysterious artist and will go on auction in just a few weeks. Its core is a piece made of the most advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was delivered to the International Space Station in 2019 as part a research project. Carbon fiber was 3D printed to form the base of every Space Key. Each Space Key is connected to a unique, digital artwork using a QR code. Only five Space Keys were produced.

NFTs are unique identifications that are recorded in distributed ledgers, such as the Blockchain and linked to a digital asset like images. They're the latest trend for those who have more money than sense and it was only a matter of time before an automaker decided to capitalize on the trend.

Space Key consists of five units. It was constructed with a physical part of the carbon fiber composite which was delivered to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT will be linked with an exclusive digital artwork by the same artist using QR codes on the backside of the carbon fiber element. More details will be released in the coming weeks and days, including the artist's name as well as the digital artwork, and the method of purchasing one of the five Space Keys.

After weeks of social media posts hinting at it, the luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally revealed its first project involving non-fungible tokens (NFT). The Space lambo car key is a collection of five items that allows you to access an exclusive digital work by an unidentified artist. It was created in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm), the collector's piece is limited to just five units and will be auctioned off soon.

The heart of every Space Key is a block of advanced carbon fire composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth, the block was inscribed with a QR codes that link to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times as the lamborghini digital key Ultimae takes off towards the stars. More than 600 million pixels up each of the five images that were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera to capture each of the individual shots, that were then merged to create the final image. The result is an amazing out of the world image that captures the beauty of the Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic look of the lambo car key erupting from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and location of the auction hasn't been confirmed yet.

The auction

The auctions will run from February 1 through February 4. The auctions will last for 75 hours and 50 minutes - the time it took Apollo 11 for him to leave Earth and enter lunar orbit. By making an online registration, you can bid on five NFTs. Each one will be sold separately and the winner will be awarded an artwork digitally created by the renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five different moments the Space Key passed during its flight through space.
