The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and plenty of features, including a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the push of a button. You can choose the general clean option which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.

This robot vacuum is effective on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do and can pick up pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve with future models.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a great improvement over the traditional hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think it's a nice claim but not enough to justify a premium price.

The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical trash to the hidden bin and washes and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a canceled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.

You can also create or combine actual rooms to alter the way Q Revo treats your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several areas of your home with different floor materials or if there's a lot of items that need to be cleaned out frequently, such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can also remove wet spills but I would suggest cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a high-end robot vacuum and mop and more. It comes with a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best budget robot mop known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still quite large. It has a height of more than two feet both height and depth, and weighs almost four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it has a faster charging speed for batteries and can handle a full cleaning of approximately 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

Finally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to control it even when you're away from home. It also comes with a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and vacuum robot that comes with a host of convenience features you don't often see on robots at this price. It is able to build precise floor maps, recognize different types of flooring and is among the few that can automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features, but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what is the best self emptying robot vacuum homeowners want.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It's tall and slim and has a white-colored finish accented with silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine has a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home.
