Titration

A highly skilled consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough assessment of your ADHD. This includes a thorough medical history and an assessment using the common ADHD questionnaires and rating scales.

After your assessment, you will be informed whether medication is appropriate for your particular situation. This will be discussed during your follow-up appointment (which can take place in person, via video link, adhd Titration private method or over the phone). Your doctor will go over the various options for medications available. If you decide to begin medication, we will offer you the opportunity to increase your dosage to maximize the benefits/side effects balance for you.

This process may take a few weeks and it involves gradually altering your child's dosage until the appropriate balance has been achieved. It is essential for parents to participate in this titration process and keep a close eye on their child's behaviour so that they can let the doctor know whether the medication is helping or causing adverse effects.

If you decide to go back to NHS treatment you will be issued an individual prescription for your medication. You will have to pay the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation cost. You'll need to keep up with your appointments every six months to monitor your medication. This includes the measurement of pulse and blood pressure. Annual reviews are also required.

Follow-up appointments

Once the assessment has been completed, you'll be able to book follow up appointments with the psychiatrist, as appropriate. The appointment is typically conducted via zoom video call. In some cases, it may be possible to have an audio-only consultation to be scheduled (again at an additional cost).

In this session, we'll discuss treatment options and decide on a custom-made ADHD medication titration program. This will include a discussion and review of your dosage of medication and any side effects that you might be experiencing. These titrations cost PS150 for face-to-face sessions and PS60 by video or phone consultation. The pharmacy will be charged for any medication costs.

The psychiatrist will ask questions about your family history and the effects of your ADHD symptoms on your life, and any relationship problems or mental health issues that you might be experiencing. After you've been recommended by this method your chosen doctor will examine you and decide whether or not you're required to be titrated on medication. You will be asked to fill in forms that vary by provider but the main ones are self-report forms and medical histories from childhood and adulthood. These will help your clinician determine any issues that could indicate that you shouldn't be taking ADHD medications if they're prescribed.

If you are being titrated the medication will consist of a mixture of stimulants and nonstimulant medications. These will be carefully trialled and monitored to determine the most effective combination for you, taking into consideration any existing conditions you have.
