The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the features that make up its more expensive sibling.

In tests, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do to locate your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is built into the base of charging. This robot can recognize your habits of cleaning, and suggest automatic schedules that will give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of the button. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger pieces of debris like rice and cereal. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is completely cleaned.

This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and clean large objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It's not able to work with plush or high-pile carpets, but iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to be able to hug furniture and walls. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are widely used, but we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features an advanced filtration system which blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the premium price price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and also to clean your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of what areas require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as good as those found on more expensive models. The mopping system is even better - its spinning pads scrub floors better than an ordinary pad that vibrates.

The only downside is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small price to pay if you are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank of the robo-vac is larger than its competitors. Filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.

In terms of the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, create little noise, allowing you to work or watch television without interruption. It will gently bump into furniture or walls and then move away if it comes across one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the hidden bin and also washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app will only inform you if something is wrong, such as a low clean water tank or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.

You can also create and merge actual rooms to customize how the Q Revo treats your abode. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or there's some items that need to be cleared out regularly, such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors on the first attempt. It is able to even vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend wiping them dry using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could need. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, plus the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also comes with an automatic cleaning station that cleans and empty the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also comes with a sensor that recognizes obstacles better and prevents it from falling on furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best robot vacuum mop for hardwood floors known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that works even when you're at home. It also has a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective robot for mopping. Its rotating mop pads remove tough stains and its motor generates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well, and it boosts suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that can last up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also very effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and robot vacuum that comes with a range of features that you aren't likely to find on robots in this price range. It can make precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It's also among the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice but they also place the L10s in the luxury category. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.

Designed to look like a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor vacuum robot cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's accented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home.
