The D7's ability to clean is impressive. It is able to take up an average of 99.8 percent of Cheerios scattered on the floor It's a little higher than Roomba's 94.6 percent and the Shark Ion R85's 100% percent. The D7 can also move well on both bare carpet and high-pile.

Another option is the ability to choose between two different cleaning intensities. There's a Eco mode that operates the vacuum quietly and extends the run time, while Turbo mode provides the most powerful cleaning. However the Turbo mode runs at an antisocial volume, which can be annoying when you're using the D7 while working or watching TV.

The D7 is one of the few robots capable creating and storing multiple floor plans. This is perfect for multi-level homes. It also has the quick boost feature that allows it to return to its base to recharge before continuing to clean. This is particularly helpful when you're cleaning difficult areas. Neato's app is simple to use and regularly updated with new features. For the price, this is among the top robots for thick carpet and pet hair on the market.

2. Eufy RoboVac 11S

Similar to the Neato D7, the Eufy 11S is sleek and low-profile. This allows it to get under beds, couches, and coffee tables with ease than other robot vacuums. It also has a few innovations that help it keep its clean and exactly where you want it to go, such as no-go lines you can draw on its virtual maps to prevent the robot from cleaning delicate areas like Ultimate Pet Hair Solution: OKP K2P 3000Pa Robot Vacuum bowls or beds. It also has the ability to auto-recharge and resume, in the event that it is unable to recharge its battery before it has finished cleaning, it will automatically return to its base and recharge it, and then restart where it left off.

The RoboVac 11S is more efficient than its predecessor and the RoboVac 30C, which is more eufy and also better than the ILIFE A4s and the bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. It has a larger dirt compartment and a longer battery life and is able to remove more dirt from low pile and high pile carpets to naked floors. It is also easier to maintain, incurs less recurring costs and is better able to move itself.

The iLife V3s Pro's cleaning ability is also fairly good. It did a good job on bare floors and picked up tinsel and mud during my tests. It's not as great as the top mop robot.

4. Roborock s7

For a robot vacuum with impressive tech capabilities and impressive tech capabilities, the Roborock s7 is a fantastic value. It performs like a lot of high-end models and is simple to use and maintain. It also has a wide array of high-end features that are similar to the features of robots that cost twice its price. It is a great option for those who are first-time buyers, who are upgrading from an entry level model, or anyone who wants to save time while cleaning.

This robot can be used on both carpet and unfinished floors. Its suction power of 2,000Pa can handle heavy-duty carpeting. It is able to remove pet hair from crevices and cracks even on floors that are bare. It's built well, moves easily, and works with voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free operation. Its battery is a little smaller than other models we've tested but it's still got plenty of juice for the majority of homes.

The app that comes with it is simple to use, and has a slick layout and plenty of features. You can draw a home-based map, set virtual boundaries that the s7 will not traverse, designate 'no-go zones, or tell it to clean one specific room. You can also monitor its performance and access its maintenance history and current status.

5. Neato Q5 Pro

The Neato Q5 Pro is a multi-purpose robot vacuum that excels at bare floors and cleans up a significant amount of debris on carpets of both high and low pile. It is well-built and has a wide range of navigational features. It is also easy to maintain. However it has a lower capacity battery than other models and has higher cost-per-use.

The Q5 is among the slowest robots we've tested however, its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't require any additional attention after its first run through a space. It begins by drawing the perimeter, and then fills in the interior using an array of parallel lines. When it's done it returns to its charging station, or its starting location if it left the base.

It did a great job of cleaning hardwood floors by sucking at minimum 88% dirt from every test. It struggled a bit more on high and low carpet however it did better than the average unit. It also comes with mopping attachments to tackle wet spills, although we didn't test this feature.

Its mobility, which is more than the norm for lidar robots, is that it is able to bump into furniture or other obstacles by a soft bump. Its navigation system is able to detect stairs and floors, allowing it to efficiently take on multi-story homes. It also can identify specific room types when you select them in the app. It can also adjust its power level, define no-go zones and view an interactive map of the cleaning area. The Q5 is controlled through the mobile app or voice commands from Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri.
