1. iRobot S8

This smart robot mop and vacuum combo is a fantastic choice for many households. It has a great navigation system with GPS and laser sensors. The laser navigation system is the primary selling point of this machine. The X8 utilizes a laser mapping system that is more accurate than the previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to build an extensive map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is ideal for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a good vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It can easily sling debris under the side brushes and into the 400ml dustbin. The tyres are adept at hugging edges and corners, even though they're circular. It's not a fantastic cat litter scooper, however, with our tests showing it only removes about 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

There's a basic mopping mode which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. This is ideal for spills that are not serious, but you can't regulate the amount of water it uses. It does a good job of removing hair from pets. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

The company is known for its quiet home appliances Miele's RX2 robot vacuum is a great choice because of its cleaning power, gorgeous design, and a great navigation. It has a few oddities in its operation, which prevent it from being ranked as the top smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 comes with a dual-sensor mapping technology which uses LIDAR to map the space, and a pair 3D scanning cameras for detecting and staying clear of obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once mapped the app allows you to assign virtual no-go areas and preferred areas that the robot will clean automatically. You can also start an automatic clean or manually change the cleaning mode, view live feeds from the cameras onboard and more on the main screen.

The RX2 has superior sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions in a flash. The suction and sweeping abilities are exceptional, taking away surface debris from carpets with medium pile as well as dust that has been deposited on floors. However, it's not exactly the most agile robot on the market. Like many others it's not a very good climber and has issues with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.

It's even able to spot common obstructions such as power cords and furniture legs in real-time. This combination of sensors, along with a bump sensor and an infrared sensor for dropping that keeps it from falling down stairs, makes it one of the most agile vacs we've tested.

It was able to walk over carpets with thick shags and did not get stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigation skills were impressive. Its composite score for carpet and bare flooring beats the competition and it was able to pick up 98.5 percent of the pet hair that we tested in our lab samples.

The controls are more basic than those of competitors. There's an uniform cleaning button on the top and you can start it from the app or via voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also create a schedule for daily or weekly cleaning, set no-go zones, and view the history of its cleaning. Covered in stylish dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and looks attractive in your home. Its rear dustbin is accessible for emptying, and taking out the filters is also a breeze.

5. eufy robot vacuum 11S

Eufy 11S is an excellent option if you're looking for a robot vacuum that's simple and has no frills at a cost that is low. It isn't equipped with some of the advanced features, such as digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are available in more expensive models, but if you're not looking for those functions you can save some money by purchasing this model.

The robot is easy to install and use. It doesn't require smartphone application or Wi-Fi pairing. However it does come with an remote control that lets you choose between different modes and alter the suction levels. It also lets you manually turn off the robovac on a scheduled cleaning.

During our tests, we found that the 11S was extremely effective at removing pet fur and dirt from carpets with low pile and hard floors. Its slim profile allowed it to reach under furniture and other items that more bulkier robots were unable to reach. It was also able to easily traverse door thresholds and transition between floors and another.

Like other robots, the 11S is able to suck up some objects such as cords, hoodie drawstrings, and cat toys. The manufacturer suggests that you can stop this by keeping such objects off the floor and using a cord organizer if possible. It also suggests cleaning the dustbin on a regular basis by replacing the filters and washing or changing the brushes as required.

iRobot Roomba 990

The Roomba is iRobot’s flagship robot vacuum. It's costly, but it's the best robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigation as well as environmental mapping is a marvel to behold. Its floor tracking sensors help it navigate across furniture and along edges, and Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling down the stairs. It will automatically return to its base station for easy recharges between sessions. Although the 980's battery life and Cleaning robot mop and Vacuum bin size isn't as impressive as some other robot vacuums, it's a reliable and solid machine that will keep your floors clean for hours on end.
