The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great option for those looking for an affordable mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

In the course of testing, it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard flooring. However, unlike other models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpet with a low pile. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as other models do, and it can even remove pet hair without much difficulty. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets, but iRobot says that future models will be better.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that uses flat-fronted D-shaped designs. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has superior filtration, which prevents tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We like the statement but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than a vibrating pad.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a second rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but it's an affordable price to pay if you want one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank is also bigger than those on many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

For the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to scrub off the tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, produce little noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and moves forward.

What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is wrong like the water tank being empty or a cancelled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.

You can also design and merge actual rooms to alter the way that Q Revo manages your home. This is an excellent feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different floor materials or if there's a lot of clutter that needs to be cleaned out frequently, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking dirt from carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it to.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has powerful suction that cleans hard and carpet floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a new sensor system that better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture and other objects.

The most notable improvement to the ECOVACS The X1 Deebot is the sleeker, more modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the robot itself and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is also more efficient than the X1 one, because it charges faster and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet on one charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and an assistant voice that works offline, which means you can use it even if you're not at home. It also has a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its rotating mop pads that scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent as well, and it boosts suction when it detects carpets to ensure that it does an excellent job. It comes with a huge rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping mode of the robot is also powerful.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that comes with a variety of features that aren't often found on robots of this price. It can build detailed floor maps, identify various flooring types and is among the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners want.

Designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's accented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine has an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. Sensors are concealed behind the front panel, which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops are efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris that was found on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
