The sequel to the Supergiant Games 2020 roguelike Hades will be released in 2019. It's an opportune move that raises the stakes and provides an in-depth look at family politics.

Melinoe returns to kill Chronos the titan of time. On her way, she'll meet new gods and specters, including the personification of light Apollo and the goddess of witchcraft Hecate and the god of the retribution Nemesis.

1. Hades 2 Technical Test

If you're a fan Supergiant Games and their famous 2020 Roguelike Hades is a good bet, then it could be worthwhile to sign up to take part in the technical testing for the sequel. The studio has announced that an Early Access launch is on the near future, and a playtest will help them eliminate any bugs with smaller numbers of players than the full 1.0 release.

This system of permanent upgrades can be found throughout every game. Melinoe can craft new spells and improve her Nocturnal Armor and Nocturnal Weapons. She can also harvest items from the Crossroads Camp for subsequent runs and unlock weapons, boons, and other tools.

The opening of more open areas is another positive expansion. These regions provide numerous routes to explore each area, and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region provides a distinct take on the Underworld. Some are more accessible than others, but all provide unique challenges that separate them from other Roguelites.

Supergiant has also altered the gameplay in the early-access version. This reduces some of the effort required to achieve certain upgrades and makes it simpler to move between different areas. Hades 2 is still far from being finished however, Supergiant has said that it will continue to refine the game to make it more perfect.

Supergiant is known for listening to its fans and solving any issues that come up, and it's evident in the way it's handled the early access version of Hades 2. While it's still a while before the full version becomes available, Hades 2 already feels like a worthy addition to your gaming collection.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike like the rest when it came out in the year of 2018. The game won multiple awards and is considered to be one of the best games ever created. It was no surprise that the game was so popular with the public, due to its rich and compelling narrative which is rooted in Greek mythology, tales of familial struggles and LGBTQ+ representation which feels natural and inclusive. So when Supergiant Games announced that it was working on a sequel process, it was no surprise that fans were excited.

Now, seven years after the first release, Hades 2 is finally making its way into early access. While it's not changed much mechanically, Supergiant's passion and dedication to Hades 2 are evident from the beginning.

According to the Steam page for Hades 2, the game "brings back all the elements that made the first so unique: the isometric perspective, clearing rooms, choosing boons, unleashing powerful attacks, the hub world, with a variety of fully voiced characters to talk with and learn from, the ever-shifting Underworld and much more."

In addition to these returning features, the test also adds a few new ones as well. You can unlock permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a brand new weapon. You'll also have the ability to manage witchy frightened creatures, unravel mysteries at the Arcana Altar, and gather agents that can boost your abilities.

The most exciting addition to the game is Omega attacks. These are new ways to increase the power of your spells and weaponry. These attacks will charge your magick meter and allow you to unleash devastating attacks that cover a a large area of effect. It's a great new method to add more variety to the moment-to-moment actions of combat.

The beta for Hades 2 is available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Supergiant has stated that they will keep fans informed as they work toward a 1.0 release in 2024. You can wishlist the complete version of the game on either the console or the PC to be informed when it is released.

4. Hades 2 Release Date
