Window Sash Repairs

Sashes for windows must be checked regularly for mold, mildew and other damage. If you catch these issues early, you can save money on repairs in the future.

The sash is an interior frame that moves upwards and downwards in windows that open. This article will show you how to carry out a few simple repairs to sash.

Weather Stripping

Wooden window sashes can give a classic look to your home. They are also sturdy and will last for many years if they are properly maintained. They may, however, be damaged or degraded over time due to exposure or normal wear. Weather stripping is the primary aspect to consider when you are repairing windows that have sash. It is located on both the frame and sash. Sash Weights

It is recommended to keep the weights that came with the original counterbalance unless you have purchased a kit to replace the counterbalance. They're not expensive and simple to install if you purchase them from salvage shops for architectural use. Depending on the size of your window, one or two sashweights may be needed to keep the sash in an open position.
