According to the report the report states that Miss Kelly was suffering from a variety of mental health problems, including borderline personality disorder, bulimia-nervosa, and anorexia nervosa. She also had an history of addiction to drugs and had been a victim of domestic abuse. Depression, anxiety, and stress made her suffer more. She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder as well as schizophrenia-related disorder.

Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic deliberately denied him a job due to his race and nationality. He argues that Medtronic's low performance review in June 2000 and the inability to grant him specific project assignments were influenced by national origin or racism animus. Medtronic has not provided any evidence to show that its decisions were based on these factors. Moreover, Elayaperumal's lower performance review didn't result in an increase in his pay or benefits, nor did it affect his the responsibilities he had.
