What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

Perhaps you've lost the Nissan key fob or it just stopped functioning. Before you panic or call the dealer, go back and check the last place you had it.

It's a breeze to change the battery in the key fob of your Nissan. It can be a bit daunting at first but you'll soon get ability to do it quickly.

Smart Keys

The key fob that was included with the key fob that came with your Nissan is an essential component of the car's advanced keyless entry system. To do this, simply remove the key from its hidden compartment and then access the battery compartment of your key fob. Replace the battery with a brand new one after removing the old one. Make sure that the positive side of the new battery faces the same direction as the original one did. Finally close the battery compartment and return the hidden key to its concealed location inside the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start allows drivers to heat or cool their vehicles from outside insofar as they're within the operating range. The ignition of the car is activated when the driver presses a button on the key fob or smartphone app. Remote start systems can also turn on the climate control which allows the driver to set their preferred temperature. Some systems offer two-way communications that allows the driver be aware of what is happening inside their vehicle.

If your car's remote start function isn't working, the most common cause is low battery power. The key fob is powered by a tiny battery which can be replaced. It lasts about two years. Flip your fob over, and then press the latch on the backside of the keypad. Lockout Protection

Lock-out tag-out (LOTO) systems can help avoid these incidents by ensuring that the machines remain off until the person who is authorized releases them.

The LOTO system is comprised of a variety of locks, tags and other devices that are used to secure, isolate, or block a device from an electric source. All "affected", "authorized" and "qualified" personnel should be trained on the use of lockout and tagout devices. These devices include, but are not restricted to chains, locks and padlocks. Each device is uniquely identified and labeled, containing the date and time of application, the name of the person who is authorized to use it and the reason behind the lockout/tag-out (repair maintenance, repair, etc.). It must also be clearly stated that these devices can't be removed until a complete LOTO procedure has been completed.
