If you're on a budget and don't want a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the most lightweight stroller, both for urban dwellers as well jet-setters. This is due to its extremely nimble handling and fold that fits into the overhead baggage of an aircraft. It's also machine washable up to 30 degrees, which helps to prevent staining caused by smushed and mashed rice cakes and carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It can also be converted into a stroller at 6 months using the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Xplore can be transformed from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then select the best mode for their journey. The wagon can accommodate one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years old, and it has a wide storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footwell than other wagons. This might not be suitable for long journeys or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, however, it isn't able to bend as much as some other wagons we have tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and it's not able to lock tight after folding. It is easy to maneuver, though, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable, second-hand travel stroller. It scored high in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. It also comes with a multi-position reclined seat and cup holders for the parent. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that absorb shock.

It performed better in our push and turn test than most of the strollers we tested, but was nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest strollers we tested. They only cover the top and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have larger canopy sizes.

It took us just under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. All of the components required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller, such as an extra-large basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair and is marketed as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth to around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted with only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible car seat.

It's a breeze to maneuver and the one-hand recline of the seat as well as the super large shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Although it is narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps well and went through doorways without a hitch.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward direction, or they can pivot. This is useful when navigating rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to rotate during our walk on the stony path. It was able to handle this well, even though it felt to be a bit rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is famous for their 3-wheeler, all-terrain pushchairs for jogging, but they also offer a great selection of 4-wheel strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It is simple to use and folds down small enough to fit into the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-made. It is easy to maneuver over different terrains, and even with two children as well as a shopping bag and other things.

The carrycot and the seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are strong and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it comes with a large basket deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of food. You can also use it with the Baby Jogger car seat for babies that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a large number of parents when it first appeared. It's a frame made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's early days and beyond. It's got a few notable features, including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy, a flip out eyeshade, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that takes the sting out of bumpy terrain. Our tester found it to be smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through tight streets with ease.

It folds down in four easy steps, and locks automatically without fuss. It is also able to stand and be rolled around for easier transportation in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system is also included with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are easy to use, using a single colored and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget-friendly pushchair is simple to use and has a great dual suspension. It can be folded with one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also extremely light and robust. The seat can be reclined in several positions. It has a built-in double breathable mattress that is suitable for babies from birth.

The canopy/seat has two large fixed or flip-out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't perfect it's not as quiet as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be configured to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to a maximum of 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be placed so that they face each the other. They can also be set to face the parents. This will help reduce sibling disputes over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a massive gear tray, bottle holder snack tray, and an adjustable mat. It also comes with an automatic frame lock as well as a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who like to stay active. It's one of the lightest running strollers you can buy for your child. It comes with amazing safety features, including a 5-point harness and safety wrist strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake that is different from other models, which is an innovative twist.

The seat is padded and offers a large area to sit. However the seat's isn't as deep as those of other joggers (it's just 10 inches deep") The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10 pounds. This is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and infant car seats however, you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to put together with no tools. The instruction manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
