Another feature is the option to choose between two different cleaning intensities. The Eco mode runs the vacuum more quietly and prolongs the runtime, while the Turbo mode offers more effective cleaning. Turbo mode is very loud, which can be annoying when you use the D7 to watch TV or work.

This robot can be used on both carpets and floors that are not bare. Its 2,000Pa of suction power is strong enough to handle thick, heavily-soiled carpeting. It's even able to clean pet hair from crevices and cracks in bare floors. It's sturdy, moves easily, and is compatible with voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free operation. Its battery is smaller than other models we've tested, but it's still got plenty of juice for most homes.

It has a shorter battery life, and has more recurring costs than other units.

The Q5 is one of the slowest moving robots we've examined, but it does have a reliable layout algorithm that doesn't require to be watched over after the first time it traverses a space. It begins by drawing the perimeter, and then fills in the interior using the lines of a series. After the work is complete it is returned to the charging station, if it was away from base.

It did a great job cleaning on hardwood flooring, sucking up at least 88% of dirt in each test. It was more difficult to clean low- and high-pile carpets, but still performed better than the standard unit. It also has mopping attachments to clean up wet spills. We haven't tested it.
