The Combo J7+ takes the excellent Roomba J7 vacuum and adds an wet mopping function. The smart robot cleans up spills and sticky messes while avoiding obstacles, and then returns to its dock at the end of its cleaning process. It's a great choice for homes with hard floors and can also be used to clean tiles or rugs with mixed surface areas.

The Combo j7+, like all Roomba models is great in sucking up dirt. Its intelligent navigation is enhanced by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision which allows the robot to detect common objects in its path--such as pet waste or cords--and stay clear of them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ is capable of avoiding furniture such as tall chairs with backs that can trap the robot beneath them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ detects that it is on a surface which needs to be cleaned, a robot arm lifts and swivels a mopping pad underneath it. It was a highly intuitive system that performed during my testing. However, I discovered that it was not able to completely clean away liquids based on water, like juice or wine. The mopping pad is washed and reused.

The iRobot Combo's front camera is also useful. It can identify hazards, such as power cables and pet waste, and steer clear of them to ensure a thorough cleaning. This feature is superior to the cameras on most other robot vacuums, which frequently get caught up in things like rug tassels. It's important to note that the iRobot Combo ju7+'s front camera is susceptible to blind spots and may be unable to see certain objects.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, but it performs well enough to justify the price. It has a good satisfaction rating and customers like its smart features. However, it's worth looking at alternatives, such as the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. It's cheaper than the iRobot Combo h7+ and can heed voice commands without the need for third-party integration, as it can mop and vacuum in just one go. Plus, it has an enormous water tank and the mopping pads are self-cleaning.

Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision

The Scout RX3 Home Vision is an entire robot vacuum and mop combo that comes with the features you'd expect from an elite brand. You can remotely monitor your home using its camera and even watch it work through the app (though the app does not offer the high-resolution image quality that you get from the camera).

The mops are ideal for cleaning tile carpets, wood and rugs as well as getting rid of pet hair, and dirt. They come with an effective obstacle avoidance system that doesn't move small, light objects such as toys or socks around the floor. It's the best mopping robot we've examined. It comes with a magnetic strip that can be used to block off areas that the robot will not be able reach, like rooms with a lot of cables.

However, the robot isn't equipped with other features that are expected from the type of robot it is. While the mops do an excellent job, their maximum runtime is 60 minutes, which is a little less than we'd like to see on such an expensive product. Also, it doesn't automatically empty itself into its charging station or follow up the mopping with an easy vacuum.

But it's a good choice for those who have large homes as the mapping and cleaning processes are quick and efficient. The app is simple to use, and it allows you to create schedules. If you don't have a reliable internet connection, you can still control it with the remote, or with voice integrations using Alexa.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision is costly however it comes with numerous smart functions that make up for the cost. The live monitoring feature for homes is excellent and also looks great. It's a nice option for those with young children, pets, or anyone who wants to monitor their house while they're away. Most people who have a robot mop and vacuum say that they are amazed at how quickly their floors are improved after beginning to use them frequently.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

The S7 Max Ultra, Roborock's new robot vacuum and mop self-empty ($1299 on Amazon), is an excellent upgrade to the S6 and S7 models. It can even create tailored cleaning routines that you can launch with a tap like an "After meals" mode that intensely vacuums and scrubs kitchen floors.

This robot vacuum with self empty base also comes with a special feature not found on most other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plate when it senses carpeting so that it doesn't let area rugs get wet, making mopping more efficient. It also has an advanced cleaning feature that vacuums and mops carpets with one pass, removing dust and dirt faster than mops that spin. The app can be used to schedule weekly cleanings or clean on demand.

While the S7 Max Ultra does a fantastic job at its tasks however, it's not without its flaws. The most notable is the price. It's the highest-priced robot vacuum and mop set-up I've reviewed. The other issues are not specific to this particular model but more indicative of robotic vacuums as a whole: it does not handle large spills and sticky messes well.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to setup: just plug it in, sync it with your phone via Wi-Fi, and start a cleaning run. Once you've done this you can modify the settings of the app. For example, you can set up no-go zones and schedule cleanings.

Its remarkable obstacle avoidance is another major benefit. In the course of testing, it only got stuck in tight spaces twice, which is much better than the S6 MaxV's three tries or the X1 Omni’s four tries. The app lets you mark an object as a temporary obstacle and the S7 Max Ultra ignores it when it comes to Ultimate Cleaning Power: Ultenic TS1 Robot Vacuum.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is a unique robot that blends mops and vacuums. It's also among the more affordable combo bots in our review. The Freo is an excellent choice for anyone who needs a combination cleaner. Its remarkable cleaning capabilities, as well as its many options for customization makes it a fantastic choice. However, its lack of advanced obstacle avoidance technology and a polished app tempered our enthusiasm for this model.

You can also select the length of time it takes for the Freo to dry its mop pads, and the frequency at which you want it to empty its trash bin. You can also specify a maximum size for the trash bin.
