1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with Ecovacs' upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than traditional mopping. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and then got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms as well as make "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the trash bin and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and start using. It takes only a few minutes to put the dock in position, plug it in, and pair with your Wi-Fi network at home. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping as well as rearranging the positioning of furniture that is mounted on walls and much more. The X2 Omni was astonished during my tests, with excellent scores for cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The ECOVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum cleaner. It is the most advanced of the T-line of the brand and comes with the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. The two modes require you attach and take off the mop heads as needed which is great for most homes, but not an ideal choice for those who have a busy schedule.

The Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our tests on pet hair. It removed more than 96% debris from our hardwood floors. This is an excellent performance. It also did a fantastic job on tile and carpet and tile, getting rid of more than 90% of dirt and debris.

This robot vacuum and mops comes with an extensive docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool water for the mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and easy maintenance. It also has a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads while using them. It doesn't have a removable tray, so dirt, dust and other grime will gradually build up in the bottom.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker that is renowned for its robot vacuums. It has upgraded intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's stylish even if its promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite come true.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. However, flip it over there's an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

Its mapping system lets you create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. It has a habit of hitting objects, including its own charging station, and isn't the best in climbing over carpets. It did a good job of removing pet hair on floors that were not paved However, in our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which is higher than any of the most powerful robots we've examined.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons located at the base of the. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn the robot off/on. You can also use them to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or notify you if something isn't working.

4. ILIFE A4s

This model of high-tech vacuum can remove pet hair, kibble and other particles with impressive effectiveness. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a set of features that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes, an automatic docking station, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled via the Neato app, where cleanings can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes that have a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning in advance to avoid getting caught on electrical cables, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

This robot was very successful during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It picked up everything from one rice grain to a variety of pet food pieces in just one pass. It had some difficulties transitioning to rugs but in general this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms with both types of flooring and a variety of pets.

It's a bit expensive however, if you are able to afford it, this is a great option for those who want to leave their home free to do other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto-cleaning mode that automatically increases suction power to deal with tough dirt and spills, and it is equipped with a battery-powered ElectroWall that lets you set boundaries that the robot vacuum for pet hair is not allowed to access.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known new brand is the cheapest we've ever tested, and provides incredible value for money. The basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This makes it less efficient as other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't quite as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also utilizes intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It can be positioned to a particular area and has a suite of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions and is perfect for homes with pets.

Its self emptying robot vacuum for pet hair-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also has a set of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It has an app for smartphones that allows you to change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications when it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark out areas with physical boundary lines.

The iQ does a good job of clearing bare floors and does a decent job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however, it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and its ongoing costs can add up over time.
