The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. In my tests the X2 Omni took just over an hour to clean its pad and begin work, and I noticed that it was more precise than previous models that were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms' corners and edges, and also create a "Zambani pattern" across the middle of the room.
