iRobot Combo Review

Combo is iRobot's very first mop-and vacuum robot, and it's also the company's best-looking. Its aluminum top piece brushed and iRobot logo are classier than the blaring designs of competitors.

The iRobot Home application is used to help you set up and guide your robot. The app gathers data on usage and maps of your home including furniture and obstacles. Maps and information about images are only shared when you have signed up.

It's not a mop

The Combo Irobot is a smart mopping robot that takes all the advantages of the excellent Roomba J7+ and includes an onboard water reservoir, a tiny mopping pad, and a handy robot arm that raises and lowers the pad. It can complete a large amount of work in just 111 minutes, before it gets power cut off and returns to its base station to recharge.

The model that is equipped with the iRobot Home app so that you can start or stop cleaning runs. The robot is also attractive, with matte black material that does not show dust or fingerprints and a brushed aluminum top piece that has the tiny iRobot Logo.

It is a fantastic tool of vacuuming, and has no issue traversing over large area rugs or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It's also able to pick up fine dust that other robotic vacuums fail to pick up. It's not the best at mowing. It won't remove dried milk stains unless you send it a few times.

IRobot's specialized Braava Jet M6 mopping robot, that is available in an assortment with the j7 Plus frequently for less than the combination Combo and performs much better at this and other tough jobs. It can even clean up ketchup and wine that has spilled, though I'd advise against using it in the presence of liquid that has a high sugar content.

It's an air vacuum

It's among the most attractive robot vacuums. The top of the piece is smooth and doesn't show dirt or fingerprints as easily as some of its competitors. The tiny water tank and dustbin of this vacuum are easy to open, however they're not the largest. The Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts that you'd expect from iRobot. This includes maps and obstacle avoidance maps that operate effectively and swiftly. However, it's the mopping arm that makes this a standout model in its class. It keeps the mop pad tucked in the top of the vacuum, but if it detects a surface that needs mopping it lowers the mop pad below and behind the robot. This is a major improvement over other robot vacuums, which require you to take out mop pads from carpets or hard floors manually. You can even shut off the entire unit to mop.

It's an electric charging station

When you're ready to charge your Combo irobot, just place it on the charging station and align its metal contacts with the ones on the base. The charging station is simple to set up and works well. In my testing, it took a few minutes for the robot's to start charging and make a sound when it was completed. After the Combo robot is fully charged you can start a mapping run on the app to help the robot better comprehend your home. You can also mark certain items like cords for lamps, as permanent avoidances in the app. You can also connect your robot to Alexa or Google Assistant, so you can use voice commands to guide it around your home.

It's a smart device

Combo irobots use acoustic and onboard sensors to discover the kind of floor it's encountering and the furniture in your home. This information is combined with images from the robot’s onboard camera and maps of Upgrade Your Cleaning with iRobot Roomba j6+ home, to create a customized plan for cleaning every room. It's intelligent enough to stay clear of your lamp cords, couch, and other objects that you wish to keep. Of course, like any other connected device, there are concerns about the security of this information. iRobot however, claims that it will not sell any customer information and that no images are taken without the consent of the customers.
